If I find you, I'll hurt you.
So anyway, there I am minding my own busniess when Thunderbird pops up and says: "Yo Tibs! You have an email! Best check it, it looks bad!"
So being the cautious person I am, I decide to actually read an email that's sent to me. And this is what it had to say:
We've received a complaint regarding a phishing site that users are being directed to by emails purportedly originating from your slice. Please investigate this matter as soon as possible. The header of the email in question is below.

Wow! I think to myself after having read it and tried to make sense of the metadata. Not wasting any time, I send Nadrew an offline message via MSN to consult his wisdom. Shortly later, he's online to discuss the matter.
Turns out we accidentally left a security hole in our server (one we've since patched) which allowed some malicious user access to our outgoing email server. "Crikey" I think to myself, after Nadrew patches it up. I best reply to Slicehost to resolve the issue.
So I spin off some words, apologise for the misunderstanding and hope that everything is now amends.
... No! It's not! Some time later, Thunderbird starts up again with "Yo! You have an email!" So I get to thinking "good, Slicehost has acknowledged our blunder, forgiven us and maybe... offered us some cake and chocolate milk to celebrate!" But I was wrong.
I get a much more annoying email:
Well... that's just not fine at all.
My attempts to communicate with Windows Live Hotmail were fruitless. Sending Windows Live Hotmail a message trying to explain this misunderstanding, left us with a "You have sent this email to live.com. Your question looks like it's about Windows Live Hotmail"... And with that, I'm not going to bother.
So, if for some wild reason, the malicious user I speak of is among you, know this: I will hurt you, if and when I find you.20080628114723>

And that's the end of that chapter.
My job for the past three years (2005 - 2008 - 5 months) has just come to an end. I also have no intention of reinitialising my place there. It was a great job, no doubt. But I'm over customer service.
So that ends a chapter of my life. I trained up yet another protégé and for the second time, handed them my key to the store.
Now it's nothing but a smooth and enjoyable holiday in travel. My departure is 10am, Thursday the third of July. Relaxation and fun, here I come!

Damn the expense!
I hate paying bills. And they all come up right before you decide to go on a holliday.
I have my ambulance membership (a necessity for a trip like this) come up, right now, when I'm so close to heading off. That's $50.00.
A new laptop battery, took me four days to find a battery, in Australia, for the brand and model of my laptop. Acer is very obscure when they discontinue a specific series. Because they remove all information about it from their website (provided you can actually browse their site. I had to use two different browsers to see all the information correctly!) So that's set me back about $160.00.
A laptop charger that can be plugged into the standard cigarette lighter slot inside a vehicle. I'm splitting the cost with my friend because he'll be using it to charge his laptop as well. So there's another $25.00.
Finally: My current slicehost.com server. The last month payment went through so my initial payment when I set the server has a credit balance of $0.00. I'll have to pay off at least four months of that before I take off. So that'll cost me around about $160.00.
Total Bills to be paid tomorrow: $395.00 Give or Take.
Granted, once that's paid, I have nothing more to purchase. But it sucks needing to spend such a large amount on the eve of my departure. (You people in Chatters and Icon Ultima owe me, so bad.)
Aside from the expense, still totally stoked. Remember, if you're in the Australia area and you want an autograph, I'll be charging $25.00. Just tell me where you want to meet you at what time, and I'll see if I can get there. Pictures will cost an additional $5.00.

And it's been done
I put in my two weeks notice today.
My holiday is becoming ever so much more a reality. Feel free to donate to my holiday (donations will go to my server (which hosts Chatters and IU) so I can save the remainder of my pay checks) using the paypal button on the right side of your screen. =D

It surprises me I haven't seen this before
With the new interface designs for 4.* and onwards. It opened up a new means to do many things. One of those things, was beg for money.
Which makes me wonder why I haven't seen this before:

Seen life
here.
It's not really that harder thing to do if the truth be told.
[Mini Tutorial]
Make a new menu instance on your Interface.
Add inside this menu instance, a donate button.
Set the buttons name to "Donate with Paypal" and it's command to ".donate".
Adapt this code to fit your interface workings:
client
Command(C as command_text)
if(ckey(C) == ".donate") src << link("https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=tiberath%40tibbius%2ecom&item_name=Donate%20to%20Tiberath&no_shipping=0&no_note=1&tax=0¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF&charset=UTF%2d8")
..() |
Naturally, you'll want to change the link you provide to one given to you by paypal. Unless you want people to donate to me (hey! I don't mind!).
Remember BYOND Anime: This isn't for you. =)<>
