FTHA... is back!

Well. It's been a long time since I have made a post here to all of you BYOND people. It's going to be another long one so brace yourselves.

We've brought Freeze Tag HideAway back from it's dead state (Thanks to Lunar Yoshi/Ice_Yoshi254 and Aqua Flip/Flip123's devoted fan service of trying to keep it alive) and it's once again being updated! Refer to the post before this one (Or the HUB page and Forums for that matter) if you want to see what all the game still has in it. Now it's time for me to post on what it's going to have and is being currently worked on!

-------------------------------------------------------
~NEW SIDE MODES~: Boo Tag (Side Mode) - This can ONLY happen in the events of a Standard, Survival, or Sudden Death Tag. When a player becomes a Boo by any means in these modes (Logged on to spectate, got caught in Sudden Death, defeated by a Fireball, stuff like that...), they have a choice to go to "Boo Tower" or a "Haunted Mansion" to play a game of Boo Tag. It will work like a normal game of tag. One Boo is IT while the others run from him. Upon tag, the other Boo is now IT and the previous IT becomes a normal Non-IT Boo. Possibly no Tag backs.

~NEW NORMAL MODES~: Hypo Tag - Another variation of a Standard Freeze Tag game but with a twist! The game chooses a random IT as always as the Non-IT's have to do their normal routine of avoiding being frozen. Catch is, when they are frozen, they have a limited time of being saved by a fellow Non-IT before succumbing to Hypothermia and turning into a Boo for the rest of the round! Definitely a Mode more suited towards the side of the IT's. The round ends just like a Standard Freeze Tag round would end with the added extra that all the Non-IT's can succumb to their Boo-ish nature. Credit goes to Luigi/Kragoth for the idea of this awesome mode.

Challenge Freeze Tag - This is, yet again, another variation of the Standard Freeze Tag Mode but THIS time it is more in favor of the Non-IT's. You all know the drill here by now but what makes this mode different is that the timer will start out at 30 seconds and begin to count down. Every time an IT player freezes a Non-IT, they gain 5 seconds to the timer. Fellow Non-IT's can unfreeze their frozen partners and the IT's can re-freeze them for more time. The other same basic rules also apply that if a Non-IT is tagged enough times, they become IT and help keep the timer above 0 so they can achieve their goal of freezing every Non-IT. The round ends just like a Standard Freeze Tag round would end.

~NEW ITEMS~: Star - If a IT player gets it, they are able to run though and obliterate everything while freezing players in their path for 5 seconds. The Star also boosts their icy touch greatly. So much, in fact, that any player within two spaces of the Star powered IT is immediately frozen. If a Non-IT gets it, they are able to withstand all attempts to be frozen and bounce IT players back about 10 spaces for 10 seconds. The Star also boosts their fiery touch. So much, in fact, that any frozen player within two spaces of the Star powered non-IT is immediately unfrozen. The Star also grants a greatly increased movement speed and strength. Able to use items at a faster speed making it easier to use items that have bad effects on them.

1-Up Mushroom - If a IT player gets it, they are able to use it on a Boo Player and revive them as an IT player. If a Non-IT gets it, they are able to use it on a Boo Player to revive them as a Non-IT Player. It can also be kept and used to revive yourself in Sudden Death Tag if you are not the last player remaining. It would be best to use it on another player in that mode if you are the last one alive.

~NEW FEATURE~: Unlockable System - Well, it was about time that we were going to attempt this. What we are going to try and bring to you, the FTHA Community, is an expansive Unlockable System. Some characters that are in the game now are even getting removed from the available list so that they can become a part of this special feature. For now, all we have planned is for new characters to be unlocked. There will be slight hints given on how to unlock that certain character but a lot of them will be vague, at most. I can offer a few examples:

Wartortle - Freeze the Poke'mon character Squirtle 100 times to unlock this second evolution of the Water Poke'mon.

Blastoise - Freeze the Poke'mon character Wartortle 200 times to unlock this third evolution of the Water Poke'mon. Alternately, you could freeze the Poke'mon character Squirtle 500 times to unlock this same character.

Charmeleon - Un-Freeze the Poke'mon character Charmander 100 times to unlock this second evolution of the Fire Poke'mon.

Charizard - Un-Freeze the Poke'mon character Charmeleon 200 times to unlock this third evolution of the Fire Poke'mon. Alternately, you could un-freeze the Poke'mon character Charmander 500 times to unlock this same character.

... And so on. Some will be as informative as these were (Not revealing the name of who you will unlock, of course. But it should be easy to tell who it will be.) and some will be a lot more vague. This is something that I have personally been excited about so hopefully you guys will think it's cool too.
-------------------------------------------------------

Aside from all this stuff, there has also been numerous bug fixes as well as a few small updates to the game. I've been working heavily on equipping every character with a Fire State (With the exception of any Fire Poke'mon, Baby Bowser, and Bowser Jr. for they can use Fire on their own. Why make an alternate state for it?) and a Star State for the new item. A new Score called "Games Lost" has been added to the Status - Scores Tab. Unfortunately, it didn't update with the player's current scores so the count will start at 0. Not a problem for new players, though. Majority of the title screens have been removed with the exception of the very first title screen KirbyAllStar and I ever made together and a new Admin Title Screen was created by Luigi/Kragoth. Of course, the HUB has been updated as well and we even have a new GM (Welcome to the team, Jelly/Riona)!

Well, just wanted to give an update on what's been going on with FTHA since we've recently become more active. Drop by sometime and check in on us. We don't bite.

Major Updates to Freeze Tag HideAway

~-WARNING-~

This is going to be a pretty big post. If you don't like to read big posts such as this, then turn away now. So... let the reading COMMENCE!

I haven't made a post in a while so I decided to with this. Some of you know that Kirby and I have made a game under the key known as "Gaming Asylum Productions" and the game is called "Freeze Tag HideAway". Well, we've been bringing some major updates to the game recently so all of you really should check it out!

To those of you who play the game regularly, then this is pretty much old news to you. But to new players who haven't seen the game before, I encourage you to give it a try! It's a Nintendo based game (with a few Square-Enix and Konami characters) and it's a new Freeze Tag game! I say it's become one of the best Freeze Tag games on BYOND but I'm not one to brag... much. Even if you don't like Nintendo or any of the above names mentioned, you should still give it a try for it's addicting-ness. I've even caught myself playing that game when I really should be Iconing or doing something else more important. If you're looking for a simple Freeze Tag game with not much to it but just one mode, then check out some of the other games. This game has a lot in it and we wanted it to be that way.

You have all your HUD Buttons for the approriate situation.

HIDE - A button for the Non-IT's. It is used to hide in various objects of the game to escape the sight of IT's.

SHAKE - A button for IT's. It is used to shake a hiding spot and possibly shake the hidden player out. If it is successful, then the hidden player is stunned temporarily for a few seconds allowing the IT to get an instant freeze. The Non-IT CAN escape the hiding place before the IT shakes it to save himself/herself from becoming a victim.

HIT - A button for all players. It is used to "Hit" an item block (If one exists in the board) in hopes of a possible item coming out. If an item DOES pop out, then you use the following button to claim it.

GET - A button for all players. It is used to grab an item that has come out of an item box. You have to be standing near it to actually grab it. This also means that another player can "Get" your item that you hit out of the box if you're not quick enough. So be careful and have a watchful eye of your surroundings.

FIRE - A button for all players who have gotten the Fireflower. Basically, it is used to "Fire" a fireball at other players. The effects for it are explained below.

As I am currently typing this post, we only have one item in the game. More WILL be coming in future updates so don't worry. That item is known as the:

Fireflower - Seen in almost every Mario game. The Fireflower, upon touch, has the power to grant the user the ability to throw fireballs. Even on some characters (In the future, ALL characters) it will change your attire to a suited "Fire Suit" for the game so people know you are packing some power.

The Fireflower has different effects and I shall explain them.

If an IT shoots a Non-IT, the Non-IT is immediately defeated and turned into a Boo disqualifying him/her from the round. A quick method to end the round and win it for the IT's.

If a Non-IT shoots an IT, the IT is immobilized in a ring of fire for about 5 to 10 seconds. This does not mean that the Non-IT can stand beside the IT without fear. They are only immobilized and are still, technically, able to reach and freeze you if you are right bedside them.

If a Non-IT shoots another Non-IT, it will unfreeze the player from a distance if they are currently frozen. If they shoot a fellow unfrozen Non-IT, then you will catch them on fire and they will run around without their control for a few seconds. This isn't recommended but just a fun little feature mainly used for a side mode explained below.

If a IT shoots an IT, the same thing happens if a Non-IT shoots a unfrozen Non-IT. They will catch fire and run around without the players control.

So, theres the description of the only item we CURRENTLY have in the game. I now shall explain the modes.

We currently have 3 modes to the game (4 if you include the side mode) which are:

1. Standard Freeze Tag - A standard mode that you would expect to be in all Freeze Tag games. One person is IT and the others run away from him/her. If the IT tags the Non-IT, they are frozen until a fellow Non-IT comes by and unfreezes them. Tagged enough times, then the Non-IT becomes an IT and helps out the original IT in their conquest for everyone to be frozen. The IT's win if all are frozen and the Non-IT's win if one or more survive until the time limit is up.

2. Sudden Death Tag - This mode really doesn't contain "freezing" but it's still related to Tag nontheless. In Sudden Death Tag, every Non-IT is basically given one chance to survive. Once tagged by the IT, they immediately transform into a Boo and are disqualified from the round. This will go on untill the IT wins by defeating everyone or the Non-IT's survive the time limit and take the win.

3. Survival Freeze Tag - Basically, this is a really simple mode but, at the same time, an addicting one. Basically, all your HUD buttons are removed. You cannot Shake, you cannot Hide, you cannot Hit, and you cannot Get. There is no time limit to this round. Instead, the timer will count up showing how long the round has been going on. It takes the same rules as Standard Freeze Tag, one player is randomly IT while the Non-IT's must run from him. The catch is, everyone must be frozen or IT for the IT's to win. Kinda like a normal situation in the other Modes. At 500 seconds, a random player will be randomly chosen to become IT. This happens again at 1000, 1500, 2000, and so on... until everyone is frozen or IT. This IS a game that only IT's can win. But the time will be recorded for Non-IT's so they can show off how long they have lasted to the other players that they are one good Survivor.

4. Fire Fight (Side Mode) - This is a random occurrence. It is a 1 in 13 chance of it happening. When a mode starts and this happens, then it will announce in the chat that it is a Fire Fight. All players will be given a Fireflower status and have 10 lives. Players have to shoot each other until all players run out of their 10 lives and become Boo's. An addicting little mode that we added to the game.

So, that's basically all of the major updated things to the game besides a few bugs being fixed and whatnot. You'll see the list of characters on the HUB so I won't list them here. Come and check this game out! We've been working on it for a while and we've gotten some good results so far.

An Epic Ending to an Epic Metal Show.

That's right. It's basically old news now but the last episode (Episode 20) of Metalocalypse has been seen by the public and it was a good ending.

This was only the first season though! It is stated that the second season of Metalocalypse is to come Winter 2007 (Which is, of course, this year.) and I honestly can't wait. I don't know how you guys felt about it but I loved the ending. It just gave me that good feeling. I'm sure I'll be hearing from you guys soon anyway.

The First Season of Metalocalypse on DVD is to be released this Summer along with their album labeled "DethAlbum" as well which will contain all songs from the show in "full length" rather than the shortened versions released via their Myspace Page (And I thought THOSE were the full versions, now I MUST have it) and some never-before heard songs. My favorite song played by them thus far just HAS to be "Go Into The Water" which was heard on their last episode "The Metalocalyspe Has Begun". I have the video clip from the show on my Myspace Page (Which can be accessed by simply clicking my "Homepage" link.) where it is playing that song and, to be honest, I can't get enough of it. So I'm more excited to hear the full version of it on the DethAlbum without the TV Sounds too.

My favorite character from the show? Toki Wartooth. I don't care what anyone says about him, he's been my favorite ever since I saw the previews of when Metalocalypse was coming to Adult Swim and he still continues to be my favorite throughout the series.

So, I'm done here finally. I just wanted to get this out to all the Metalocalypse fans out there which I'm sure they already KNOW this information. I just feel good posting it.

Let's keep the Metal going here.

Please read this. This is awful. Anyone who really cares about this animal will do this.

Against it.

I found this on a Bulletin Post on my Myspace page from a friend. We got to do something about this guys. I posted this as an announcement because this is EXTREMELY important.

If any of you out there are my friends, I ask you out of the kindness of my heart to repost this. If you're not my friend, I ask you search for the source compassion in your soul and repost this anyway. More importantly, if you're in a position to, DO something about it.

This is about California legislation being passed to exterminate pit bulls. If it passes in California, it could be on it's way to anywhere. Someone has to try to make a difference...what if it were your pet?

It would be great if Myspace could be used for something good other than getting dates. Please pass the word along and post this...so as many people can see this as possible. If you saw this anywhere else besides Myspace, PLEASE show this to your family and friends so THEY will show it to others.

This has to be stopped. We need to save these dogs.

It's a quiz that I found on Dark Emrald's, a buddy of mine, BYOND Page. Pretty cool too. This is how I supposedly will die according to the Quiz.

Take it and post your results!
