When you start the game you will be at Elm’s lab in Newbark Town.
You start of as a new Pokemon trainer and with a very weak Pokemon.
This Pokemon will soon start growing stronger and get more experienced.
Make sure to drop by the local Mart for new supplies!
To catch Pokemon you simple buy a Pokeball and find a wild Pokemon.
Once fighting, select “Pack” and choose the Pokeball from the menu.
The Pokeball will be thrown and the wild Pokemon might get caught. Especially early Pokemon will be easy to catch but the stronger they get the harder it is to catch them. A common tactic used is to make sure the Pokemon is weak before you attempt to catch it. Of course there are many tricks on how to catch a Pokemon, try paralyze them for example! Did you know that trainers are a great source of income? If you defeat a trainer he will give you some money, but be careful because once beaten the trainer won’t pay you that much once beaten again.With all the knowledge your team of Pokemon will soon grow and you will have to start building your team. Because a trainer can only have 6 Pokemon with him at all times you need to choose these 6 wisely. You can catch as many Pokemon as you like, and then change your team at the Poke Center Computer. If you head southwest from Newbark town you will reach Violet City, this is were you can access the first Poke Center Computer. Don’t forget to talk to the nurse and “save” your location, this will make sure that next time you are defeated you will return at this Poke Center 
Did you know that there are many rare Pokemon?
Some are very hard to find and some Pokemon might appear with colour different than it would normally have. We call these Pokemon “Shiny” Experts say that for every Pokemon born, 1 out of 8000 is “Shiny”By defeating wild Pokemon or Gym leaders your Pokemon will earn experience points. Once your Pokemon is more experienced it will grow in strength, level up! Most Pokemon will even change appearance and get a power boost at certain lvl’s. Pokemon have differed types, Water is good against Ground, and Fire is good against Bug types. It’s for you to find out what attacks and Pokemon work best in which situation. The Pokemon Citrine world has many gyms, this is were you can find gym leaders. Gym leaders will give you a gym specific badge, which will allow you to train stronger Pokemon and keep them under control. It pays to get Badges as fast as possible, your Pokemon might disobey you if they get to strong. |
